The first new song in five years from Avenged Sevenfold is a lumbering behemoth of a track.

“Nobody” is almost progressive in its ambition and scope. An unsettled guitar effect and rapid cymbal work throughout “Nobody” moves us towards a hook that features complex layered vocals, metallic noodling, and even a horn section! And A7X’s veteran guitar duo of Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance close out the track soloing on top frantic strings.

Director Chris Hopewell’s stop-motion animation provides “Nobody” with a hypnotic extra dimension of appeal.
