Mick Mars will continue making music with Motley Crue away from the road.

Due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis he will no longer be able to tour with the band.  Mick will continue as a member of the band but can no longer handle the rigors of the road.  A.S. is an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine.

Mars, 71, received the A.S. diagnosis as a teenager and has lived and worked through the pain all these years. This article sheds some light on what Mars endured throughout Motley Crue’s career, and what playing music with this band has meant to him.

Rumors abound that John 5 (Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie) may replace Mars on the road, but no official announcement has been made.
