Congrats to Jack White and Olivia Jean! And all the lucky fans on-hand as witnesses…
“Let’s get married / in a big cathedral by a priest,” sings Jack White on the fan-favorite White Stripes track “Hotel Yorba”. Well, if we take into account how some people compare a great rock show to going to church, Jack White brought “Hotel Yorba” to life last Friday!
On the first date of his ‘Supply Chain Issues’ tour, he brought his girlfriend (and opening act) Olivia Jean onstage for a duet of the aforementioned White Stripes classic – then pulled out a ring and proposed! But that’s not all: family members joined the couple onstage and they were married on the spot – before White resumed his set.
White and Jean will have to find time to honeymoon on the road – Jean is serving as White’s opening act on the tour, which runs all the way through August. The tour actually ends right here in Kansas City on August 29th at Starlight Theatre.
