The crowd at an intimate Beck gig got a fun surprise courtesy of Jack White.
Beck can easily fill large venues, so the crowd at the 400-cap Basement East in Nashville was already psyched for a unique experience at a solo acoustic gig. What they definitely did not expect was Jack White taking the stage claiming to be Beck, playing a medley of country-tinged 90’s favorites that Beck absolutely wrote and were definitely not covers of songs by Chumbawumba or The Proclaimers.
Jack White took the stage and said, “Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m Beck. I’m gonna play you one of my favorite songs from the 1990s that I wrote.” He strummed through a few bars each “Tubthumping” and “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” before the real Beck arrived.
Who’s the coolest surprise guest you’ve seen at someone else’s show?
