Metallica broke out some rarities during the 40th anniversary shows in San Francisco last weekend.
A quick peek at setlist.fm reveals Metallica played a handful of songs for the first time in about a decade. Night one featured “Trapped Under Ice” for the first time since 2012 and “Fixxxer” for the first time ever. Meanwhile, six of the first nine songs performed on the second night had accumulated quite a bit of dust according to setlist annotations by fans.

If you missed the live streams of Metallica’s 40th anniversary shows last weekend, the band previously promised the shows would be available to watch on The Coda Collection’s Prime Video channel in 2022.
