Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, and Tom Morello team up on a blistering, modern take on the AC/DC classic.
Tom Morello slightly reinterprets the classic riff and provides one of his own trademark guitar solos. The Boss and the Pearl Jam frontman add their gruff vocals. And what we get is a very fun version of a hard rock classic by three guys with absolutely nothing to prove to any of us.
Here’s what the Rage Against The Machine axeman had to say about the track.
“Our version of ‘Highway To Hell’ pays homage to AC/DC but with Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder, bringing this legendary song into the future. One of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll songs of all time sung by two of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll singers of all time. And then I drop a shredding guitar solo. Thank you and good night.”
This is our first taste of Tom Morello’s next solo album The Atlas Underground Fire out October 15. Morello says all his riffs were recorded using the Voice Memo app on his iPhone during covid lockdowns. Almost every song features a cool collaboration with a wide-ranging array of partners from Chris Stapleton to Bring Me The Horizon. This follows up The Atlas Underground released in 2018.
