Watch Metallica Play All Of ‘The Black Album’ Live

Metallica track through their legendary 1991 album during the full-length 2012 concert, but they do it with a twist!

When Metallica finally joined the trend of performing one of their classic albums in its entirety, they put their own spin on it. Rather than starting with track 1, they work their way from the last song and go ‘back to the front’. Get it? “Disposable Heroes”? Master Of Puppets? Nevermind. By playing it backwards, instead of ending with deep-cuts “My Friend Of Misery” and “The Struggle Within” the show would climax with those immortal Black Album singles “Sad But True” and “Enter Sandman”. Makes sense if you think about it.

Anyways… for this week’s #MetallicaMondays show – where the band shares a different, rare, full-length concert in order to raise money for coronavirus relief through their All Within My Hands foundation – Metallica shared¬†Live In Nickelsdorf, Austria – June 10, 2012¬†when they headlined the Nova Rock festival. This took place two weeks before the band’s famed Orion Music + More festival in New Jersey. Enjoy the show. Skip ahead to about the 12:05 mark if you’re not interested in Lars’ intro.
